William F. Chesley, president, founded W.F. Chesley Real Estate in 1970. Under his leadership and direction, the company has evolved into one of the most successful, privately-owned real estate firms operating in the Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area. The company currently represents nearly a quarter million square feet of commercial office space and manages several commercial and residential investment properties.

In addition to brokerage services, the company’s land development and construction divisions have built office complexes, retail centers and residential projects (from 25 lots to a 1,400 unit subdivision) in suburban Maryland.

Notable future projects include an 800,000 sq. ft. mixed use (retail, hotel, office) development in Bowie; an upscale 187,000 sq. ft., 11-story office building to be constructed at Routes 50 and 2 in Annapolis; and a 50,000 sq. ft. office building in Glenn Dale (the final phase of Fairwood Office Park, a 150,000 sq. ft., 3-building medical office campus).

In recent years, the company has provided financing for residential and commercial loans, thereby creating innovative opportunities for investors as commercial banks have withdrawn from the market.
